Iva Ivanova

Dr. Iva Ivanova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her research examines language production, comprehension, and bilingual cognitive control using behavioral methodologies. Funded by NIH and NSF, current projects investigate bilingual lexical alignment and the temporal dynamics of language switching.

Key findings include mechanisms of within- and between-language interference resolution and the role of working memory in syntactic formulation. Teaches courses in Cognitive Psychology, Language and Cognition, and mentors graduate/undergraduate researchers.

Editorial board member for multiple psycholinguistics journals and recipient of career enhancement awards for research on bilingual communication.
