Dr. Itamar Ben Ami is an assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Utrecht University, within the School of Humanities. His research intersects political theology, Jewish orthodoxy, and secularism, examining tensions between religious and secular frameworks in modernity.
His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from Hebrew University (2022) and research/lecturing roles at Humboldt University's Faculty of Theology (2020-2023) and the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies (2022-2023). He is currently supported by an NWO Veni grant (2026) for a project on Jewish visibility.
