Dr. Italia Boliver Reynaud is a Lecturer in Spanish Language Education at King's College London, based in the Department of Spanish Portuguese & Latin American Studies within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. She has been affiliated with the university since 2005, completing her PhD there in 2012 on theories of reality and Neo-plasticism in Julio Cortázar's Rayuela. Her MA in Transnational Studies was earned at the University of Southampton.
Research Interests:
- Relationship between European modernist avant-gardes and 20th-century Latin American fiction
- Theories of reality, space, otherness, and absence in literature
- Ekphrasis and visual literary analysis
- Exile narratives in Latin American/Spanish modernist works
- Gender Studies and postmodernism
Teaching focuses on Spanish language instruction and Latin American cultural narratives. Recent events include a 2023 talk on poetic creation mechanisms, now concluded. Affiliated with the Language Centre in the Virginia Woolf Building, London.
