Isak Engquist is an Associate Professor at Linköping University’s Department of Science and Technology (ITN), leading the Printed Electronics group within the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE). He holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Linköping University (1996) and has prior experience at the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) and Thin Film Electronics. His research focuses on organic electronics, printed electronics, and energy storage materials using sustainable approaches. Engquist teaches at undergraduate and graduate levels and collaborates on projects like the world’s first wood transistor and industrial-scale electronic paper.
Key affiliations include the LOE, which explores organic material properties for electronics and optics. His work integrates nanocellulose, conductive polymers, and lignin to develop eco-friendly energy storage solutions. Notable projects include EU Horizon 2020-funded initiatives on energy-harvesting components and electronic plant control systems. He contributes to interdisciplinary research bridging materials science, chemistry, and engineering.
