Isabelle Peretz is a full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, holding the Casavant Research Chair in Neurocognition of Music. She co-founded and co-directed BRAMS (International Laboratory for Brain, Music and Sound Research) until 2018, establishing Montreal as a global hub for music neuroscience research.

Her work demonstrates music's capacity to alleviate pain, stimulate Alzheimer's patients' memories, and aid aphasia recovery.
