Dr. Isabel Robinson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Humanities and Social Science at Liverpool John Moores University. Her research centers on the cultural history of the early modern British Atlantic, with a focus on communication networks, print culture, and the politicisation of the periodical press.
Her work critically examines the relationship between higher education and slavery, supported by fellowships and grants from prestigious institutions including Harvard University's Houghton Library and the Paul Mellon Centre. She is currently leading a digitisation project titled 'Our Most Beautful Mechanical Contrivances': Exhibiting Empire in Nineteenth Century Liverpool.'
