Isabel Marlens

Isabel Marlens is a Lecturer and Interim Associate Director of the Writing Center at the University of Idaho's English Department. She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Idaho (expected 2024) and a B.A. in English Literature and Evolution & Ecology from Bennington College (2012). Her academic roles include teaching first-year composition, science writing, and creative writing courses.

Her professional interests focus on writing center pedagogy and science writing instruction. She oversees undergraduate and graduate writing tutors and provides writing support to faculty and postdocs at the University of Idaho Writing Center. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked as a professional writer in nonprofit journalism.
