Isabel García Parejo is a Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), affiliated with the Faculty of Education's Department of Spanish Language and Literature. She holds a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics from UCM, a Master's in Educational Sciences from the UK's Open University, and a Master's in Language Didactics Research from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her research focuses on Spanish language teaching/learning in multilingual contexts, systemic-functional writing pedagogy, and immigrant language education. She coordinates the ForMuLE research group (www.formule.es) and has led/coauthored over 10 significant publications since 2014. Key projects include the Reading to Learn model's impact on teacher training (Banco Santander-funded) and multilingual education initiatives in Madrid and Chongqing. Her teaching innovations include interdisciplinary literacy programs and online resource development. She has supervised five doctoral theses and mentors three current candidates. Her work bridges linguistic theory, educational practice, and sociocultural dynamics in language education.
