Isaac Russell Whitman, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University. He is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, with clinical practice at the Temple Heart & Vascular Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
His clinical and research interests include arrhythmia evaluation, electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation, cardiac device implantation and extraction, and epidemiologic research in cardiac and arrhythmic diseases. He is dedicated to patient education and has been recognized for excellence in clinical teaching and patient care.
Dr. Whitman’s research spans multiple domains including atrial fibrillation, sudden cardiac death, alcohol and heart health, ventricular arrhythmias, and genetic associations in cardiovascular disease. His publications, primarily from 2009 to 2017, reflect a strong emphasis on clinical epidemiology, patient behavior, and procedural outcomes, often in collaboration with institutions like UCSF and multi-center studies such as the Health eHeart Study.
