Isaac Mooney is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Physics at Yale University. He holds a Ph.D. from Wayne State University (2022), advised by Helen Caines. His research focuses on experimental nuclear physics, particularly jet substructure measurements in smaller collision systems (proton-proton and proton-gold) to calibrate baseline data for studying quark-gluon plasma (QGP) interactions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). He is part of the STAR collaboration and advocates for nuclear fission as a low-carbon energy source and inclusive physics practices.
