Iris Hübscher is a linguist and university lecturer affiliated with the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Zurich. Her research explores multimodal communication, focusing on how gesture, prosody, and facial expressions contribute to meaning-making in social interactions and language learning.

Her work spans multimodal pragmatics, intercultural communication, and child language development, with a recent co-edited volume on Multimodal im/politeness analyzing politeness across 8 languages. She collaborates internationally and presents at interdisciplinary conferences.
