Irina Vyacheslavovna Skvortsova

Irina Vyacheslavovna Skvortsova is an Associate Professor at the School of Finance, Faculty of Economic Sciences, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), where she has been working since 2014 with 9 years of scientific and teaching experience. She holds a Master's degree in Finance and Credit from HSE (2014) and a Candidate of Philological Sciences degree (2009), along with specialized training in project management, nuclear industry negotiations, and construction project management.

Her research focuses on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, high-tech companies, and emerging markets. She examines how cognitive biases impact M&A performance, the role of intellectual capital in mergers, and the strategic value of corporate diversification in different economic environments. Her work spans Russian, Chinese, Indian, and other emerging markets, with particular attention to high-tech sectors and cross-border transactions.

Her publications reveal a strong focus on M&A performance determinants, with recent work examining digital readiness in cross-border M&A, CEO education and experience in high-tech acquisitions, and the impact of cultural differences on transaction success. Her research methodology combines empirical analysis of market data with theoretical frameworks from behavioral finance and strategic management.

Skvortsova actively supervises bachelor's and master's theses while teaching courses in company valuation, advanced business valuation, and mergers and acquisitions. She maintains strong industry connections through her role as co-chair of the economics working group at the World Nuclear Association and her current position leading Rosatom's International Business Projects Department, where she oversees foreign project implementation and develops strategic models for assessing socio-economic effects of large infrastructure projects abroad.

She has presented her research at numerous international conferences including World Finance Conference, EURAM, and GSOM Emerging Markets Conference, demonstrating her active engagement with the global academic community in finance and corporate strategy.
