Irina Ursachi

Irina Ursachi is a Lecturer in the Department of Modern Philology at the University of Alcalá. She specializes in German Philology with a focus on cultural reception studies, comparative literature, and trauma narratives. Her research explores memory construction, intercultural mediation, and literary analysis of authors like Elfriede Jelinek.

She leads the Grupo de Investigación Estudios Interdisciplinares de Recepción, investigating topics such as literary reception, cultural transfer, and intersemiotic translation. A current project (2025-2026) examines precariousness and vulnerability in contemporary German literature, funded by Comunidad de Madrid with €59,800.

Her pedagogical work includes innovative uses of digital tools for language teaching, such as YouTube booktrailers. Recent publications analyze trauma aesthetics in Holocaust literature and narrative techniques in Jelinek's works. She actively participates in international conferences on German literature and cultural studies across Europe.
