Irfan Ahmad

Irfan Ahmad, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, with clinical practice at Children's Health of Orange County (CHOC). He serves as the NICU Educational Director for the Pediatric Residency Program, focusing on neonatal intensive care and resident education.

Dr. Ahmad's research focuses on neonatal airway management, particularly for infants with micrognathia and Robin sequence. His work examines surgical interventions including mandibular distraction osteogenesis, tracheostomy, and tongue-lip adhesion, with emphasis on outcomes like hospital length of stay, oral feeding capabilities, and need for secondary procedures.
