Ireneusz Ewiak

Ireneusz Ewiak serves as a Professor at the Military University of Technology (WAT) within the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy, specifically in the Department of Image Recognition, where he has been employed since 2014.

His academic credentials include:

• Graduate of Warsaw University of Technology's Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography (1992), specializing in photogrammetry
• Ph.D. in Geodesy and Cartography (2004, Institute of Geodesy and Cartography)
• Postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) in Geodesy and Cartography (2013, Warsaw University of Technology)

Professor Ewiak's research centers on advanced photogrammetric applications, including aerial/satellite photogrammetry for situational and altitude analysis, spatial modeling using digital technologies, multi-temporal studies with archival materials, and cross-disciplinary integration with engineering and agricultural geodesy. His work uniquely extends photogrammetry into non-geodetic environments, demonstrating exceptional practical implementation capabilities.

He has received three state awards for research and implementation excellence.

His project leadership spans over 20 state and European-funded research initiatives (5 as principal investigator) and 100+ major commercial projects including four strategic ventures, with international project management experience. He actively contributes to academic governance as Scientific Secretary of the Polish Academy of Sciences' Committee on Geodesy (since 2011) and as a member of the Surveyor General of Poland's certification examination committee (since 2014).

Based in the Department of Image Recognition, his work connects with WAT's broader geospatial research infrastructure including the Geodesy Laboratory and WIG Research Laboratory.
