Irene Baghoomians

Irene Baghoomians is a Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Law School, University of Sydney, and coordinator of the clinical legal education program. She holds a BSc LLB from the University of Sydney and an LLM from Columbia University Law School. Her research focuses on international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and clinical legal education.

Her professional experience includes roles at the Australian Law Reform Commission, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Race Discrimination Unit of HREOC. She also worked at the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York, focusing on human rights litigation under the Alien Torts Claims Act.

Teaching areas include International Human Rights Law, Public International Law, and Legal Profession. She coordinates the External Placement Program and has published extensively on human rights, legal education, and regional legal cooperation in Asia-Pacific.
