Irena Vanessa Ivan

Irena Vanessa Ivan is a researcher at the Multimodal Interaction Lab at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, affiliated with the Department of Media Technology. Since May 2023, she has been conducting PhD research as part of the 'Assisting the Remote Video Learner with Self-Regulation Support' project. Her work focuses on developing interventions to mitigate mind-wandering effects during online video learning through webcam-based detection tools and ChatGPT integration for test design.

Education: She holds a double bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy (Erasmus University Rotterdam, 2021) and two master’s degrees in Human Learning & Performance and Clinical Psychology (both 2021, same institution). Post-studies, she served as a lecturer for Educational Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Research Interests: Central themes include AI-driven educational tools, cognitive psychology applications in e-learning, and the impact of large language models (e.g., ChatGPT) on learning assessment. Her work bridges theoretical insights from interpolated testing literature with practical interventions for multimedia learning environments.
