Iordania Constantinou is a Professor at the Institute of Microtechnology within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Braunschweig University of Technology. She has held this position since 2023, after serving as a Junior Professor at the same institute since 2018.

Professor Constantinou's research focuses on Micro/Nano Fabrication, Microfluidics, Lab-on-Chip technologies, Optoelectronics, and Cell Biology. Her work bridges engineering and biological sciences, with particular emphasis on developing microscale technologies for biological applications. This interdisciplinary approach combines materials science with biological systems to create innovative solutions in microfluidics and optoelectronics.
She leads a Junior Research Group at the Institute of Microtechnology and serves as a mentor for CyberMentor, an online mentoring program for girls in STEM fields. Additionally, she contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer for international journals including Micromachines, Electrophoresis, ChemEngineering, and Entropy.

Professor Constantinou completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida, with doctoral research supervised by Prof. Dr. Franky So. Following her Ph.D., she conducted postdoctoral research at North Carolina State University and the Center for Molecular Biology at Heidelberg University before joining Braunschweig University of Technology.
