Ion TRIȘTIU

Ion TRIȘTIU is a Professor at the Department of Electroenergetic Systems within the Faculty of Power Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. He has held academic roles since 1990, progressing through the ranks of preparator, assistant, lecturer, associate professor, and full professor. His administrative responsibilities include serving as Department Director (2012-2016) and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering since 2016, previously holding the same role (2008-2012).

• Education: Bachelor's and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University of Bucharest
• Postdoctoral studies: Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and CREM Research Center, Switzerland

His research focuses on electrical networks and systems, with expertise in distributed energy generation, renewable energy integration, distribution network optimization, and overhead power line dynamics. He has led 20 research projects and contributed to over 40 contracts with energy distribution companies.

As an academic leader, he has co-authored 11 technical books and authored one as sole writer. His responsibilities as Vice-Dean include managing industry partnerships, internships, postgraduate training, graduate employment, and Erasmus+/ARUT mobility programs.
