Ion Marin is a University Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Mozarteum University's Department of Conducting, Choral & Wind Orchestra Conducting. A globally renowned conductor in both symphonic music and opera, he collaborates with leading orchestras and opera houses worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, and Berliner Philharmoniker. Since 2019, he serves as Artistic Director of the European Union Philharmonic Orchestra. His discography spans over 40 titles with major labels like Deutsche Grammophon and Decca, earning prestigious awards. Marin holds the Claudio Abbado Endowed Professorship and leads educational initiatives like the Cantus Mundi project in Romania, fostering music education for disadvantaged children.
