Ioannis Stefanou is a Professor at Centrale Nantes, affiliated with the Research Institute of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM). He transitioned from the Navier Laboratory in Paris in 2011 to Nantes in 2020, drawn by Centrale Nantes' interdisciplinary research environment, computational facilities (e.g., supercomputers), and experimental infrastructure for fast dynamics studies. His research focuses on earthquake control via slowing seismic instabilities and the dynamic behavior of structures under extreme events like explosions and climate-related hazards.
