Ioanna Kokore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus, specializing in Monetary Theory and Policy within the School of Economics, Business and International Studies. She holds a prominent position in the field of monetary economics with a focus on financial stability and international economic relations.
Dr. Kokore earned her Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics from the University of Birmingham (UK) as a scholarship holder of the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.). Her academic background includes a Master's (M.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
Her research program centers on monetary policy under financial instability, international economic relations, decision theory under uncertainty in financial contexts, and banking sector corporate governance. Her scholarly work demonstrates a consistent trajectory examining how monetary policy frameworks interact with financial stability concerns, particularly in the post-global financial crisis environment. She has made significant contributions to understanding monetary policy coordination in interconnected economies, the relationship between monetary policy and systemic risk, and the dynamics of foreign direct investment within the Eurozone.
Dr. Kokore's publication record includes two major monographs with Springer and Cambridge Scholars Publishing, an edited volume with Palgrave Macmillan, multiple journal articles in reputable economics publications, book chapters, and teaching materials. Her 2023 book "Monetary Policy in Interdependent Economies: the Task Ahead" represents a significant contribution to the field, continuing the research trajectory established in her earlier works.
