Ioana R Moldovan is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Glasgow's Business School. She joined in 2006 and holds a PhD from Indiana University Bloomington (2006), an MA from the same institution (2001), and a BSc from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania (1999). Her research focuses on macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, with particular expertise in aid volatility management, debt stabilization, and policy interactions in non-Ricardian economies. She has collaborated with institutions like the International Monetary Fund on policy reports addressing economic challenges in developing nations.
Her work spans theoretical models exploring fiscal-monetary policy coordination, habit formation effects on economic behavior, and countercyclical tax mechanisms. Recent publications analyze optimal responses to aid reductions in Haiti and strategies for stabilizing reserves under volatile external funding. Teaching responsibilities include postgraduate courses on international macroeconomics and advanced macroeconomic topics, as well as undergraduate modules in macroeconomic analysis and international finance.
