Inés Jacob Taquet is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto, Bilbao. She holds a BSc and PhD in Information Technology from the University of Deusto. Her teaching focuses on Programming Methodology for Computer Engineering and Programming for Industrial Technology Engineering. She is part of the Deustek2 research team, recognized by the Basque Government. Her career includes roles as Vice Dean of Students (2006–2010), Dean (2010–2016), and currently Quality Manager and Coordinator of Teaching Accreditation Assessment at the faculty.
Education: BSc and PhD in Information Technology (University of Deusto). Master’s in Robotics and Automation (1991). Professional Development: Extensive pedagogical training including courses on university teaching, European Higher Education Area adaptation, and conflict resolution.
Research interests center on pedagogical innovation, including academic analytics for student retention, remote laboratory design (e.g., WebLabDeusto), and curriculum development. She led projects such as ASPA4DOR (2022–2023), Blueprint Steel Skills (2019–2022), and Re-CREA (2018–2020). Over 30 years of contributions to educational technology, formal programming methods, and multilingual content management.
Publications span teaching methodologies, educational tools, and computational linguistics. She has authored numerous articles on programming education, competency development, and remote learning technologies. Her work emphasizes bridging theory and practice in engineering education.
