Inte Gloerich

Inte Gloerich is a Lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries (FDMCI), with a concurrent PhD researcher position at Utrecht University's Department of Media and Culture Studies since 2020. She holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in New Media & Digital Culture and Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), respectively.

Her research focuses on blockchain technology's societal and cultural implications, particularly through the MoneyLab project, which explores financial democratization via artistic and activist interventions. Key interests include blockchain's sociotechnical imaginaries, power dynamics, ownership, and ethical challenges in governance and digital economies.

Recent work includes analyzing blockchain's role in urban governance, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and speculative design approaches to crisis response. She has authored/co-authored over 40 publications, including peer-reviewed articles in journals like Frontiers in Sustainable Cities and Political Geography.

Gloerich actively engages in academic talks, workshops, and media commentary on blockchain art, NFTs, and crypto-economics. She has contributed to media outlets like Metropolis M and participated in over 80 academic and public activities since 2012.
