Inka-Maria Nyman

Inka-Maria Nyman is a Senior Lecturer at Åbo Akademi University in the Faculty of Humanities, Psychology and Theology, specializing in cultural management and musicology. She is currently completing her doctoral thesis on opera as a social and cultural phenomenon, with a focus on accessibility, digitalization, and public discourse.

Her research interests include the democratization of opera, cultural belonging, media representation, and social media branding in the arts. She teaches in the Culture, History and Philosophy program and is responsible for work-life orientation in cultural management education.

Her recent publications (2023–2025) span journals such as International Journal of Cultural Policy and Opera Quarterly, as well as books and media commentaries.
