Professor Ingunn Kathrine Wehus is affiliated with the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics (ITA) at the University of Oslo. She leads the CMB&CO research group, which focuses on cosmic microwave background (CMB) analysis, galactic modeling, and 3D mapping of the universe to study dark matter and dark energy. Her work includes the global Cosmoglobe project and international collaborations with institutions like Caltech, Princeton, and NASA.
- PhD in Theoretical Physics, University of Oslo (2006)
Her research explores the birth, evolution, and future of the universe by integrating observational data with physical models of the Milky Way and beyond. Projects like CO intensity mapping and the Cosmoglobe interactive all-sky atlas aim to advance understanding of cosmological structures.
- Principal Investigator, ERC Consolidator Project "Cosmoglobe"
Wehus supervises the CMB&CO research group at ITA, comprising over 20 members including students, postdocs, and faculty. She co-founded the Global Component Separation Network, connecting institutions such as Caltech, Princeton, and Tokyo to advance cosmological research.
