Ingrid Pickering is Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Molecular Environmental Science at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research uses synchrotron light techniques to investigate metal speciation and distribution in biological systems.
Work focuses on environmental health applications including selenium biochemistry, mercury toxicology, and arsenic transformations. Utilizes X-ray absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence imaging to study metal behavior in organisms and environmental samples.
- Canada Research Chair (Tier 1)
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada
Teaches graduate courses in synchrotron X-ray absorption spectroscopy techniques and their applications in environmental and biomedical sciences.
