Dr. Ingrid Hanson is Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Manchester, specializing in nineteenth/twentieth-century literature and radical politics. She holds a Ph.D. from Birkbeck, University of London.
Her research examines literature's intersections with war, peace, and radical politics—including utopian texts, socialist poetry, and anti-war writings. She authored 'William Morris and the Uses of Violence, 1856-1890' and co-edited 'Poetry, Politics and Pictures'.
Current projects include a monograph on peace concepts (1854-1930) and 'Moss Worlds', an interdisciplinary study of urban moss ecologies. She received the Review of English Studies Essay Prize and is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
