Dr. Ingrid Bacon serves as Associate Professor in Healthcare Research and Practice at the School of Life and Health Sciences, Centre for Integrated Research in Life and Health Sciences. A Chartered Psychologist and Mental Health Occupational Therapist, she brings over 25 years of clinical experience across UK, West Africa, and Brazilian mental health settings.
Her academic credentials include:
- PhD from Brunel University London
- MSc in Psychology from Kingston University
- MSc in Health Studies from Exeter University
Dr. Bacon's research integrates psychological and occupational therapy frameworks, specializing in evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Her work emphasizes holistic approaches to mental health treatment through Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
