Dr. Ingomar Kelbassa is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Engineering, RMIT University, based at City Campus, Australia. His research focuses on Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Engineering, with a strong emphasis on additive manufacturing technologies such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Selective Laser Melting (SLM). His work explores material properties and process optimization in polymer and metallic additive manufacturing, including studies on ULTEM 1010, Inconel 625, and carbon fiber-reinforced polymers.
He has supervised projects investigating thick powder layers in laser powder bed fusion of Ti6Al4V and in-situ reinforcement of polyetherimide with continuous carbon fibers. His research outputs span mechanical property analysis of additively manufactured materials, lattice structure design, and resolution thresholds in additive manufacturing processes.
