Ingo Rohrer

PD Dr. Ingo Rohrer is a Research Professor at the University of Freiburg's Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology. His habilitation (2022) examined mistrust and ignorance in Argentina's justice system. Research bridges legal anthropology, emotion studies, and epistemology, with fieldwork in Argentina, Chile, and Indonesia.

Current projects analyze how uncertainty shapes judicial processes and the role of imagination in bureaucratic contexts. His earlier work explored youth subcultures, including punk friendship networks in Buenos Aires.

Publications address legal pluralism, ethnographic collaboration, and anarchist thought. Recent co-edited volumes advocate for postcolonial methodologies in anthropology.
