Ingeborg Nordbø

Ingeborg Nordbø serves as Associate Professor and Head of Department at the Department of Business and IT, School of Business, University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), Campus Bø. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses while supervising PhD candidates, with extensive international project experience across six countries.

Education:

• PhD in rural tourism/entrepreneurship from University of Aalborg, Denmark (fieldwork in Norway/Chile)
• MSc in International Economics and Business Administration from University of Aalborg, Denmark

Research Focus: Her work examines tourism-driven rural development, entrepreneurial ecosystems in alternative economies, and sustainability transitions. Field experience spans Denmark, Chile, Guatemala, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, and China, emphasizing community-led development models and cross-cultural project management in resource-constrained settings.

Projects & Leadership: Nordbø directs the BA program in International Marketing and Tourism, leads the SEEDs sustainability education project (Norway-Guatemala-Colombia), and manages the Research Council-funded AccessTour project. She previously held board roles in INTPART (2015-2020) and UTFORSK (2016-2018), and served as Erasmus+ Nordic evaluator (2014-2021) and Research Council of Norway assessor.
