Indrani Coondoo

Indrani Coondoo is a Researcher at the University of Aveiro's Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering, affiliated with CICECO - Advanced Materials and Technologies. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Delhi and has extensive postdoctoral experience, including roles at the University of Puerto Rico (USA) and the National Physical Laboratory (India). Her research focuses on lead-free piezoelectric materials, ferroelectric/multiferroic systems, energy harvesting materials, and nanotechnology-driven material characterization.

Her work emphasizes functional material design for energy applications, including piezoelectric composites, magnetocaloric fibers, and nanostructured ceramics. She employs advanced techniques like Raman spectroscopy, piezoresponse microscopy, and scanning probe methods to investigate material properties at the nanoscale.

Dr. Coondoo has authored 43 journal articles, two books, and four book chapters. Her research has been published in high-impact journals such as Chemical Engineering Journal and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. She collaborates widely, with projects addressing energy storage, electrocaloric cooling, and multifunctional material integration.
