Indrajeet Chaubey is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut and Dean of the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources at Purdue University. He leads the Department of Agricultural & Biological Engineering, focusing on ecohydrology, water quality, and sustainable agricultural practices. His research integrates hydrological modeling, climate change impacts, and decision-support systems for watershed management.
Dr. Chaubey's expertise spans Ecohydrology, Solute/Sediment Transport, Best Management Practices (BMPs), GIS/Remote Sensing, and Climate Change Adaptation. He has contributed to advancing technologies for nutrient recycling, water conservation, and bioenergy crop systems. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging tools like the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and remote sensing data.
Key facilities supporting his research include the ADM Agricultural Innovation Center, Discovery Park, and the Maha Fluid Power Research Center. His publications address topics such as soil moisture assimilation, climate projections for Indiana's water resources, and the impacts of bioenergy crops on hydrology.
Chaubey's research has informed policy and management strategies, including reports on freshwater provisioning and adaptation to climate change. He advocates for precision conservation and sustainable solutions to balance agricultural productivity with environmental stewardship.
