Indrachapa Bandara Rajapakshe Mudiyanselage is a Research Fellow in Organic Electronics at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the Advanced Technology Institute and Nanoelectronics Centre. She earned her PhD in photovoltaics from the University of Surrey in 2019, focusing on solution-processable organic/polymer and perovskite solar cells. Prior to this, she obtained a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, USA, and held roles as a Research Scientist at SLINTEC (Sri Lanka) and a Process Assistant Intern at WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group, UK).
Her research interests center on sustainable and low-cost optoelectronic technologies, including Pb-Sn mixed perovskite solar cells to reduce toxicity and processing costs, organic thin-film transistors (e.g., source-gated transistors for roll-to-roll printing), and hybrid organic-inorganic X-ray detectors with applications in medical diagnostics and security. She also explores energy-scavenging systems for self-powered electronic skins (e-skins), addressing challenges in wearable and flexible electronics.
Her articles collectively emphasize advancements in perovskite materials, X-ray detection mechanisms, and carbon fiber recycling processes. Notably, she has contributed to improving Pb-Sn perovskite solar cell efficiency via anti-solvent engineering and post-treatment methods, as well as developing flexible, high-sensitivity X-ray detectors using bismuth oxide nanoparticles.
