Indira Knight is a Researcher at the Royal College of Art, specifically within the School of Communication and The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design. Her work bridges creative technology and healthcare applications, focusing on developing innovative solutions for wellbeing and inclusive design.
Her research interests span creative technology, XR (Extended Reality), virtual reality applications for mental health treatment, 2D and 3D animation, emerging technologies, and data visualization. Knight specializes in creating prototype web applications and physical interfaces using JavaScript, Python, and Arduino, with particular expertise in future cities, healthcare, ageing, wellbeing, and inclusive design. She has developed VR applications for mental health treatment, demonstrating her commitment to applying technology for social good.
Her publication record includes the book "Connecting Arduino to the Web" (2018) and significant contributions to the WebXR field through conference presentations and community building. Knight co-founded the Web XR London meetup group in 2017 and has been active in the W3C WebVR ecosystem, serving on the program committee for the W3C Workshop on WebVR Authoring in Brussels.
