Dr. Ina Kuhn is a Researcher at the University of Freiburg's Institute for Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology. Her work focuses on the Anthropology of Addiction, Future Anthropology, and empirical utopia research. She leads the DFG-funded project 'Abstinent Everyday Life: Strategies for Navigating Addiction' (2025–2029) and previously contributed to 'Living the Future or Surviving?' exploring utopian festivals. Kuhn earned her Master's (2016) and Bachelor's (2014) degrees from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, focusing on festival ethnography and intercultural competence.
Her research emphasizes fieldwork methodologies in sensitive contexts, including studies on alternative economic practices at Utopia Festivals and sobriety strategies. She has published widely on future-oriented cultural practices and received awards for innovative teaching and thesis work. Kuhn actively engages in science communication through podcasts, lectures, and public workshops on topics like academic mental health and utopian visions.
