Ina Asim is an Associate Professor at the University of Oregon's College of Arts and Sciences, with affiliations in Asian Studies, Food Studies, History, and Medieval Studies. She holds an office in 317 McKenzie Hall and her research focuses on Chinese history, cultural practices, and interdisciplinary studies.
Her work explores topics such as sartorial regulations in the Ming Dynasty, Song Dynasty land contracts, and Tang Dynasty tomb culture. She also studies gender roles in early 20th-century reform movements and political legitimation strategies in medieval China.
Recent research includes projects on urban life in late Ming Nanjing and the cultural legacy of the Silk Road. Her publications span historical analysis, biographical studies, and archaeological investigations, reflecting a deep engagement with material culture and social norms.
