Imre Takács is a Professor at the Institute of Art History, Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem (ELTE), with a focus on Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque Art. He also serves as a lecturer at the Department of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Art and the HUN-REN–ELTE Thesaurus Mediaevalis research group.
His research spans medieval Hungarian art, French Gothic influences, Benedictine monastic architecture, and the cultural history of Europe. Key areas include artistic reception, cultural transfer, and medieval iconography.
The articles reflect his expertise in medieval art historiography, Hungarian Gothic architecture, and court culture under figures like Sigismund of Luxembourg. His work often intersects with exhibitions and material culture studies.
