معرفی
Imran Quraishi, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Neurostimulation in Epilepsy, Epilepsy Magnetoencephalography Program, and Medical Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. His research focuses on ion channelopathies, particularly KCNT1 mutations, and the application of brain stimulation technologies to treat epilepsy. He holds dual roles in clinical care and translational research, bridging electrophysiology, computational modeling, and clinical trials.
Education & Training:
- MD: Baylor College of Medicine (2009)
- PhD: Rice University (Bioengineering, 2008)
- BS: Johns Hopkins University (Biomedical Engineering, 2000)
Research Interests: Dr. Quraishi’s work integrates molecular biology, clinical neurophysiology, and neuroengineering. Key areas include:
- Development of responsive neurostimulation (RNS) systems for seizure prediction and treatment.
- Investigation of KCNT1 potassium channel mutations in epilepsy pathogenesis.
- Use of magnetoencephalography (MEG) and PET imaging to map epileptic networks.
Grants & Labs: Leads projects on antisense oligonucleotide therapies for KCNT1-related epilepsy and collaborates with the Center for Biomedical Data Science. His lab employs cellular models and clinical trials to advance precision medicine in epilepsy.
