Iman Taha

Professor Iman Taha is a distinguished academic at Aalen University where she holds the Professorship for 'Sustainable Materials in Plastics Technology' since September 2021. She serves in multiple leadership roles including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, Senate Commissioner for Sustainable Development, and management of the Institute for Sustainable Polymers and Composites (ISPC). Professor Taha maintains an ongoing (though currently suspended) position as Full Professor of Materials Engineering at Ain Shams University in Cairo.

Her research spans sustainable materials in plastics technology, with focus areas including bioplastics, renewable fiber reinforcements, lightweight construction with composites, and advanced recycling processes. Professor Taha's work emphasizes the entire lifecycle of plastic materials with strong commitment to circular economy principles and sustainable development.

Professor Taha's academic journey includes significant positions at Ain Shams University in Cairo where she progressed from Teaching Assistant to Associate Professor, alongside research experience at Clausthal University of Technology where she earned her PhD in Materials Science. Her industrial research experience includes heading the Materials and Testing Technology Department at Fraunhofer Institute for Casting, Composite and Processing Technology in Augsburg from 2014-2022.
