Iman F. Hassan

Dr. Iman F. Hassan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serves as Director of Community & Population Health Initiatives at Montefiore Einstein. She holds a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University (2010), an MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2014), completed residency at Montefiore (2017), and earned an MS in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh (2019).

Her research focuses on implementing social determinants of health programs in clinical settings, including trainee/faculty development in structural competency, cross-departmental curriculum design, assessment tools, and optimizing clinical workflows for social needs screening. She oversees the internal medicine residency social determinants curriculum and leads initiatives to expand training in this area.

Dr. Hassan has secured grants for research on home-visit teaching methodologies, validation of structural competency assessment tools, and patient communication skills. She is board-certified in internal medicine, serves as a reviewer for major journals, and is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine.
