Dr. Imad El-Anis is an Associate Professor in International Relations and Director of the Centre for Policy, Citizenship, and Society at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). He specializes in the international relations and political economy of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), focusing on regional cooperation, economic development, and security. His research addresses critical issues such as freshwater scarcity, energy security, and climate change adaptation, with a particular emphasis on Jordan's policies and strategies.
Education: B.A. (Hons) International Relations (NTU, 2003), M.A. International Political Economy (University of Sheffield, 2005), Ph.D. International Political Economy (NTU, 2008), and PGCHE (NTU, 2009). He is a Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy and member of key associations including the International Studies Association and British Society for Middle Eastern Studies.
Teaching and Supervision: Module leader for 'The International Relations of the Middle East and North Africa' (undergraduate) and 'International Relations Theory' (postgraduate). Supervised 18 PhD completions and currently advises four candidates on topics like climate finance in Jordan and Qatar's mediation strategies.
