Ilya Tyapin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering Sciences, University of Agder. His work focuses on mechatronics, robotics, and autonomous systems with applications in battery recycling, flexible manipulators, and industrial automation.
Research Interests: Tyapin investigates motion control for robotic systems, dynamic modeling of flexible manipulators, and sensor fusion techniques. His research enables technologies for energy storage applications and sustainable manufacturing.

- RESTORE: Automated sorting and pre-processing of end-of-life batteries for high-purity material reuse
- Robotic disassembly systems for electric vehicle battery packs
- Flexible manipulator control with redundancy resolution
