Ilker Ataç is a Professor of Politics in Social Work at the Department of Social Work, Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Germany. His research focuses on undocumented migration, urban citizenship, migration policy, civil society actors, and Turkish political economy. He completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna in 2020 with the thesis Making Citizenship: Rights, Policies and Agency.

Ataç serves as co-editor of the journal Movements and participates in networks such as the Council for Migration and the Austrian Political Science Association (ÖGPW). His publications address transnational migrant activism, the politics of inclusion/exclusion, and critical citizenship studies.
