Ili Ma is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Psychology, Leiden University, specifically within the Developmental and Educational Psychology unit. Her research focuses on the intersection of developmental cognitive neuroscience, reinforcement learning, and social development, with particular emphasis on dopamine-related cognitive functions.
Her work explores how baseline neuropsychological markers like spontaneous eye blink rate (EBR) and hemispheric asymmetry predict performance under pressure, cognitive stability/flexibility, and stress responses. She investigates the role of dopamine in cognitive control through behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, and psychophysiological measures.
