Il-Seop Shin is a Professor at the School of Engineering and Technology, Western Illinois University (WIU) Quad Cities. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2007), with prior M.S. (1999) and B.S. (1997) degrees from the same institution and California State University Fresno, respectively.
- Research focuses on sensor integration in mechatronic systems, intelligent microelectronic networks, biomechanics via surface Electromyography, and biomedical signal processing for diagnostic tools.
- Teaching interests include enhancing problem-solving through critical thinking, project-based learning with real-world applications, and leveraging technology for interactive education.
