Dr. Ihab Shalbak is a Lecturer in Human Rights and Social Justice at the University of Sydney, with a focus on the intersections of knowledge, power, and politics. Prior to his academic role, he served as a Senior Research and Policy Advisor at the Australian Human Rights Commission.
- Research Interests: Politics of knowledge production, think tanks, hegemony, international law, and human rights in Palestine.
- Teaching: Courses include SCLG6923: Social Justice Vocational Project Design, HRTD6901: Human Rights Norms and Mechanisms, and vocational placements.
- Current Projects: A book tracing the emergence of think tanks as responses to governance crises in 20th-century America.
- Students: Supervises research students Miftahuddin and Hery Prasetyo.
