Igor Viktorovich Pekov

Igor Viktorovich Pekov is a Research Professor of Mineralogy in the Department of Mineralogy at the Faculty of Geology, Lomonosov Moscow State University. He has held this position since 2014, following a career progression from Engineer (1989-1998) to Science Researcher, Senior Researcher and Leading Researcher (1998-2014) within the same department.

His research spans multiple specialized areas of mineralogy including:

• Mineralogy of alkaline rocks and rare elements
• Crystal chemistry of minerals and inorganic compounds
• Minerogenesis in pegmatitic and hydrothermal systems
• Mineralogy of volcanic fumarole exhalations
• History of mineralogy and related geosciences
